Major Chair Makeover!

One of my favorite things to makeover are vintage chairs! They have such great lines and shapes but usually the fabric and wood need a major update!

So when I saw this chair,  I didn’t see the horrible pea green velvet fabric, I saw potential!

Before-Back

I wanted to make it bright and fun, so I made my way to Sew to Speak…aka…the greatest fabric store EVER! (If you’ve never been, its a must see…4610 N. High St in Clintonville)

I painted the chair is Annie Sloan Old White and used clear wax to finish it off. Then I added the bold, fun floral print fabric. The finished product is adorable!

I used a coordinating orange houndstooth print for the tufting buttons and trim. Mixing fabrics gives chairs a little extra pop!

My first attempt at tufting! Success!

Burlap on the back, gives it a special rustic touch!

Now that its finished its the perfect backdrop for a special message from my daughter, Charlie:

Happy Birthday Auntie Carmen!! Hope you have a great day!!

This sure is yummy!
